Breaking it Down with Biofermentation

Biofermentation is bringing big benefits to the beauty care industry. Not only does fermentation act as an active ingredient booster by enhancing bioavailability of nutrients, but it also makes for a higher concentration of these powerhouse components including enzymes, vitamins and antioxidants.

It is innovative processes like biofermentation that are paving the path in this industry due to the ability to avoid the need for chemical synthesis or organic extraction and relying on “biological factories” instead. In some cases, biofermentation methods can be superior for concentrating desired compounds instead of using lab-created ingredients and chemicals to formulate the cosmetics we use on our skin, scalp and hair.

Gut Flora Health - The Importance of
Pre and Probiotics

Your gut flora is made up of a complex environment of microorganisms including many types of yeasts, viruses, and most importantly bacteria. Everyone has both good and bad bacteria in their gut and correcting the balance of the two is an important step in achieving overall health of our bodies as a whole.

Pre-biotics are non-digestible fibre that feed the probiotics in our gut. Since these compounds can not be fully broken down by enzymes, they are able to pass through the small intestine where they ferment and are able to "fuel" and promote the growth of the good bacteria in our gut.

Probiotics which are more commonly known than prebiotics, are live bacteria and micro-organisms that make up our gut flora. Probiotics are the beneficial bacteria that are needed to promote a healthy digestive system leading to a healthy gut-skin microbiome.

Gut-Microbiome Strengthening Ingredients

Coconut Oil - in combination with it's antibacterial properties coconut oil is loaded with probiotics that help relieve dry, irritated skin and remove harmful bacteria.

Arrowroot - containing prebiotic fibres that feed good bacteria, arrowroot is also composed of healing nutrients that unclog pores, reduce acne marks, and rejuvenate your skin barrier.

Tapioca - tapioca fibre contains resistant starch making it a great prebiotic that feeds the beneficial bacteria in the gut and in combination with other vitamins detoxify's your skin, making it brighter and smoother.
